Granny Ann's
 Bread / Waffle Section

                     Welcome to my
                        Bread Section!

In this section I have added the recipes from my collection that has been handed down from the best cooks I have known:

My mom, my sisters and my mother-in-law!

You will find easy biscuits to make from scratch or try making them from a biscuit mix. The yeast rolls are my favorite that my mom made when I was young. I do hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Our usual Sunday morning breakfast was biscuits and gravy. Our kids really enjoyed our Sunday morning breakfast. There isn't anything, I know of, that will bring kids to the table faster than when breakfast is served with biscuits and gravy and lots of love.

I fixed breakfast for my kids every morning before they left for school when they were young.  (YesI was a working mom-grandma!)  Of course, when they reached high school things were different because of their schedules and it was hard for them to sit down and eat every morning.

Besides the oatmeal with toast, bacon & eggs, cereal & toast, french toast and eggs in a basket, they really loved the breakfast pizza. Hope you enjoy fixing one or more of these recipes for your family as well.

Have a great day!

TIPS:

How to make buttermilk when you don't have any or don't use buttermilk daily.

USE 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar plus sweet milk to make 1 cup (let stand for 5 minutes before using)

NOTE:
The pre-packaged cornbread mixes are very good and they are quick & easy to fix in a pinch. Just try different brands until you find one you like. Of course, nothing is as good as homemade cornbread.
