Stir & Drop Biscuits


These are the easiest biscuits to make and the recipe can be doubled if more biscuits are needed.

1 1/2 cups Biscuit mix

1/2 cup milk (whole, low fat or fat free will do)

HEAT: oven to 450 degrees.

STIR: ingredients until soft dough forms

DROP: by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet

BAKE:  7 - 9 minutes or until golden brown        5 biscuits

HINT: Dough can be placed on a surface well sprinkled with biscuit mix. Knead 10 times, then roll dough 1/2" thick and cut with a 2 1/2" cutter dipped in biscuit mix .

TIP:

How to make buttermilk when you don't have any or don't use buttermilk daily.

USE 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar plus sweet milk to make 1 cup (let stand for 5 minutes before using)


NOTE:
The pre-packaged cornbread mixes are very good and they are quick & easy to fix in a pinch. Just try different brands until you find one you like. Of course, nothing is as good as homemade cornbread.
