Granny Ann's Cake Section
Joanna's Pound Cake
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 cups flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. ADD flour mixture and milk. Beat until smooth; ADD orange extract. Mix well. Pour into a greased & floured bundt cake pan. Remove cake from pan and add sauce below.
BAKE 325F degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Check with a toothpick in center of cake.
Sauce
Mix 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water and boil until thick. ADD 1 stick margarine and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Pour over hot cake.
