Dinette Cake
(Granny J. Grover 1987)
1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder, heaped
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
1/3 cup shortening, rounded up
1 teaspoon vanilla
Sift all dry ingredients together. ADD shortening, vanilla & milk. Beat until blended.
ADD 2 eggs & beat again until blended. Pour into a 13X9 inch pan or 2 round cake pans that have been floured.
Bake in pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes
This cake recipe can be used with strawberries and whipped cream or add your own icing, chocolate, vanilla, butter cream or add a 7 minute icing with coconut.
This cake is moist and so good! Enjoy.
