Strawberry Shakes

1 10-ounce package frozen strawberries
1 cup milk
1 pint of strawberry ice cream or strawberry frozen yogurt.

To thaw strawberries, fill a bowl with warm water and place unwrapped package of strawberries in the water. Let stand about 10 minutes or till the strawberries are thawed.

Spoon the strawberries with their juice into the blender container. Cover with the lid and blend until smooth. ADD the milk, cover and blend till smooth again.

Scoop or spoon half of the ice cream or yogurt in the blender. Cover and blend till smooth. Turn off the blender and scrape the sides with a rubber scraper, as needed.

Add the rest of the ice cream or yogurt, cover and blend just till smooth, stopping the blender and scraping as needed. Pour into glasses.

TIPS for KIDS

Cooking is fun.

Find a recipe and carefully read it. Assemble the ingredients and equipment that will be needed. Be sure you have an ADULT present to help you at all times.

SAFETY TIPS:

Always use hot pads or potholders when cooking or baking and make sure an ADULT is there to help you.

Always wash your hands before you start to cook! Use soap and water, clean all parts of your hands really good.

Don't forget: Help clean up after you have finished baking or cooking. Mom & Dad will like that and so will your grandparents.

Best of all, Have Fun and Enjoy!

NOTE:   All ADULTS should help a child read the recipe first to make sure all the ingredients are available and the type of supervision that will be needed for each recipe.
