Kids Graham Cracker Treats

1/3 cup margarine or butter
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
12 graham crackers
2/3 cup chopped nut topping
15x10x1 inch baking pan

Pre-heat oven 350 degrees
Line the baking pan with a piece of foil

In a saucepan add margarine/butter and put on the burner. Cook on low heat until the margarine/butter melts. Turn the burner off and remove the saucepan from the burner. With a large spoon stir in brown sugar, mix well.

Arrange graham crackers, side by side, in the foil lined baking pan.

Stir the brown sugar mixture and spoon over the graham crackers, sprinkle the crackers with the nut topping.

Place in the oven and bake for 7 to 9 minutes or till the topping is bubbly. (ADULT SUPERVISION, here) With pot holders remove the baking pan from the oven, turn oven off, and place on a cooling rack. When crackers are cool, break each cracker into four parts along the lines of the cracker.

Store crackers in a tightly covered container.                                    (Makes 48 crackers.)

TIPS for KIDS

Cooking is fun.

Find a recipe and carefully read it. Assemble the ingredients and equipment that will be needed. Be sure you have an ADULT present to help you at all times.

SAFETY TIPS:

Always use hot pads or potholders when cooking or baking and make sure an ADULT is there to help you.

Always wash your hands before you start to cook! Use soap and water, clean all parts of your hands really good.

Don't forget: Help clean up after you have finished baking or cooking. Mom & Dad will like that and so will your grandparents.

Best of all, Have Fun and Enjoy!
NOTE:   All ADULTS should help a child read the recipe first to make sure all the ingredients are available and the type of supervision that will be needed for each recipe.
