Peanut Butter Cookies

1/2 cup butter or shortening
1 cup peanut butter (smooth/chunky)
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed firmly
1 Tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Heat oven to 375 degrees

Cream butter/shortening, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar, milk & vanilla in a large bowl at medium speed with an electric mixer until well blended. Beat in egg.

Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder & salt. Mix into creamed mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoon or tablespoon about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten in crisscross pattern with a fork dipped in flour or sugar.

Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet before removing cookies.
(Makes about 2 dozen (with tablespoon)
