Pretzel Jello Salad

2 cups pretzel sticks, crushed
3/4 cup butter, melted
3 Tablespoon sugar
1 (8oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1 (8oz) Cool Whip, softened
1 (16oz) pkg. strawberry Jello
1-2 (10oz) pkgs. frozen strawberries, partially thawed
2 cups boiling water

Mix first 3 ingredients and press into a 13X9 inch pan. Bake at 350F degrees (metal pan) or 325F degrees (glass pan) for 8 minutes. Let cool completely.
In a mixing bow, beat 1 cup sugar and cream cheese until smooth, fold in Cool Whip and spread over pretzels. Set aside.
In a pan bring 2 cups water to boiling and add jello. Stir jello until dissolved. ADD strawberries to jello, set aside for 10 minutes.  After 10 minutes pour jello mixture over cream cheese. Chill in refrigerator for 3-4 hours or overnight before cutting into squares.
