Double Chocolate Cake
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
4 Tablespoons cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1 cup salad dressing
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Sift together dry ingredients and ADD cold water, salad dressing, and vanilla. Mix well.
Pour batter into a 13X9 inch cake pan that has been sprayed with Baker's Joy.
Bake at 350F degrees for 30 minutes
A good test to see if cake is done will be with a toothpick. Stick the toothpick into the center of the cake and if it comes out clean the cake is done.
Let cool 10 minutes before adding icing.
Melt 1/4 cup butter in a sauce pan then ADD 1/4 cup milk, 1/4 cup cocoa, and 1 cup sugar. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes only. Use a timer. Pour over cake that has knife holes poked all over the top. Icing will soak down into the holes though the cake. It is good with milk poured over it or with a scoop of ice cream.
